You've probably already heard us talk about the new Prius c here at Fairfield Toyota, but honestly, we just can't contain our excitement. More details were recently unveiled surrounding the new fuel-efficient subcompact, of which Toyota plans to sell around 40-thousand units this year alone. This figure would double Honda's best annual sales numbers for the value-friendly Insight hybrid vehicle. Because the Toyota Prius family has such an reputable image, however, we could see these numbers come to fruition.
The 2012 Prius c, which will finally go on sale in March, is expected to appeal to younger buyers that aren't yet a part of the hybrid community. These new drivers should greatly add to the market and to Toyota sales in a major way. The Prius c will have a low price point (with a starting MSRP of only $18,950), excellent technology features, and an expected fuel economy rating of greater 50 mpg in the city-with 46 mpg on the highway and 50 mpg combined. For a few grand more, a grade "Three" variant of the Prius c can be purchased (at $21,635), which includes such upgrades as navigation and a more sophisticated audio system. The Prius c is smaller and lighter than the standard Prius, and it's prime competition will be the Honda Insight.
Stay tuned here with Fairfield Toyota, located at 203 Lycoming Mall Dr, Muncy, PA 17756, to learn of the new Prius c's exact arrival date. In the meantime, we have several members of the Toyota Prius family already in-stock, so be sure to stop by and take a look!
