Toyota Technical Center Expands U.S. Operations
The Toyota Technical Center is a branch of Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc., (TEMA), which carries out extensive automotive research and development. The division does everything from testing to quality assurance, and it has played a major part in earning Toyota the reputation for safety that it enjoys today.
That's why it comes as no shock to anyone at Fairfield Toyota, serving Muncy, PA to learn that the Toyota Technical Center is expanding on two fronts. First, Toyota has opened a new, dedicated office for the group in California's Silicon Valley to collaborate with many of the automaker's key innovative partners.
The second way? They'll be hiring 250 new engineers over the next five years. A total of 150 hires will be made in the next year, while 100 will be made over the next five. The majority of the new hires made will be at the existing branches of the Toyota Technical Center, such as those in Ann Arbor and Saline, Michigan, where they'll focus on powertrain, mechanical design, electrical engineering, electronics and advanced research projects.
"The hiring of 150 new engineers this year at TTC gives us renewed confidence that our local operation has the experience and leadership to lead us into the future," explains Seiya Nakao, President of TTC. "We are seeking talented, motivated individuals who thrive on challenges, who are team players and implement improvements in safety, quality and performance."1
The Toyota Technical Center is just one of the many reasons why so many drivers in Muncy turn to the new Toyota lineup.
